Transition Age Youth (TAY)
We define Transition-Age Youth (TAY) as young people between the ages of 14 and 20. This group is at a critical juncture in their lives as they prepare for full independence; many of them lose the support provided by the county once they turn 21. CASAs offer consistent support and advocacy, helping them build a strong foundation for their futures.
While the statistics on older youth aging out of foster care are concerning, our research demonstrates that caring adults can truly make a difference.
