Required: 12 hours per calendar year of continued education for active CASAs. This requirement can be met through books, movies, television shows, online training, and by attending CASA-sponsored training, and training offered in the community.

The purpose is to ensure that CASAs stay educated and informed on issues within the juvenile dependency/justice system and specific areas of interest to your individual case.

To receive Continuing Education credit, for each item, enter the following four questions to your training log in Optima.

  1. What is the name of the webinar/video/book?
  2. What are the three most important things you learned?
  3. How will this help you in your role as a CASA?
  4. Would you recommend to other CASAs? Why or why not?
