Continuing Education
Required by National CASA Standards
12 hours per calendar year of continued education for active CASAs.
This requirement can be met through reading or viewing relevant books, movies, television shows, online training, and by attending CASA-sponsored training, and training offered in the community.
The purpose is to ensure that CASAs stay educated and informed on issues within the foster care and juvenile justice system and specific areas of interest to your individual case.
To receive Continuing Education credit, for each item, answer the following four questions into your training log in Optima.
- What is the name of the webinar/video/book?
- What are the three most important things you learned?
- How will this help you in your role as a CASA?
- Would you recommend to other CASAs? Why or why not?
