Leave a Gift in Your Will

You can leave a legacy that ensures every child in foster care deserves dignity and someone to advocate for them.

The way you care about giving children the opportunity for a safe, nurturing home where they can reach their full potential is personal. When you name CASA of Monterey County in your will, you are writing your legacy and you are fueling our mission for good.  Planned gifts are flexible and efficient.

Please inform us if you have named CASA of Monterey County as a beneficiary, as we’d very much like to recognize you!

Please discuss your legacy goals with your financial or estate professional.

Gifts By Bequest

Naming CASA of Monterey County in your will or trust is one of the easiest and most popular ways to partner with our mission.

CASA of Monterey County recommends that bequests be made toward unrestricted general purposes in its work to train and mobilize CASA volunteers for children and youth in foster care.

Common ways to make a lasting impact:

  •  A Residual bequest: A percentage of the remainder of your estate after other specific legacies have been fulfilled.
  •  A Specific bequest: A specific dollar amount, stated fraction of your estate or specified gift-in-kind such as collections, art, books, jewelry, etc.
  •  A Contingent bequest: A gift that is originally intended for other beneficiaries but, in the event of their prior passing, is redirected as a charitable donation.

Please contact us if you would like sample language for your will.

Charitable Gift Annuities

A charitable gift annuity (CGA) is a win-win contract between a donor and CASA of Monterey County. As a donor, you make a gift to CASA of Monterey County using cash, securities or possibly other assets. In return, you become eligible to take a partial tax deduction for your donation, plus you receive a fixed stream of income from the charity for the rest of your life.
